Primary Grades (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades)
The instructional environment of the primary grades facilitates student development and mastery of basic skills in the content areas of geography, health, history, literature, math, reading (strong emphasis on phonics), non-denominational Christian religious education, science, spelling, and writing. The students also benefit from enrichment opportunities in art, computers, etiquette, library, music, physical education, and Spanish. At this level, the children are becoming more confident in the use of simple concepts, rules, and facts while integrating new information. Great attention is given to teach and practice study skills in the primary grades as students begin to work more independently and complete more complicated assignments.
